"Huh? H..hey? Hold on... I'm still transforming... okay?!" |
| “ | I have handed to you my life. If you let me live, then I will devote the rest of my life for you...but if you insist on killing me now, then by all means open fire. | ” |
—Vincent, to Eric Sin | ||
Vincent is a Field Agent of Shadow and former member of Nine Dragons.
Appearance
Vincent as he appears in the present is a tall, muscular and broad man with tanned skin and white hair. He is generally seen dressed in a combat shirt and trousers under a red overcoat, and wears a cowboy hat while bearing a huge casket on his back.
Personality
Vincent is a professional who views honour and gallantry very highly, therefore he makes it his policy to not harm women or children while trying to kill his enemies as quickly and painlessly as possible. Very protective of Sofia, Vincent also submits himself to the mercy of Eric Sin out of guilt.
History
Leaving Serbia to work as a mercenary in order to earn enough for treating his ailing sister, Vincent when fighting against rebel forces in Africa 15 years ago met his fellow mercenary Hajime Ryo. He later took Ryo to meet Sofia, only to have him rape her after her heart transplant, resulting in her falling into a vegetative state as well as going mad. Furious but failing to beat Ryo, Vincent took plastic surgery and went by the name ‘V’ in order to infiltrate Nine Dragons which Ryo had joined, bidding his time to exact revenge.
Soon afterwards, Vincent was sent alongside Ryo to Eric’s home in order to make an example of his father who had stolen some cocaine from Nine Dragons, only to find the whole family present. Expressing his misgivings to Ryo about dragging women and children into this, Vincent was shocked when Ryo instead ordered Eric’s mother raped. Although he managed to persuade Ryo into sparing Eric, the guilt of letting the little boy lose his parents to Ryo’s heinous atrocity weighed heavily on Vincent.
Plot
Eclipse
Heroes of Street
Vincent followed Yamato to South Korea alongside Ryo, Sakura Yui and an army of Marionettes after Sang Mandeok ordered the exiled Priest to eliminate the threat of Shadow. After Yamato and Yui got Sin Yunseong to spill out the location and entrances of Shadow’s secret headquarters, Vincent led a band of Marionettes to attack the security company that sat above its emergency exit. Advancing into the headquarters, Vincent found himself opposed by Eric in the operation manager’s office, which then got sealed off by mirrors and converted into a showroom for Eric’s performance. As the Marionettes got killed off one by one, Vincent and Eric recognised who the other was, so Vincent declared that he will offer his life to Eric once his vengeance was completed, before the showroom was broken by the torrent of river water that swept them away. Vincent later appeared on the banks of the Han River after Yamato’s remaining Marionettes were slaughtered by Yun Taesu who had come to the rescue of Gang Daehyeop and Sin Taepung, where he managed to stop the serial murderer in addition to falsely reporting that Eric was killed.
As Yamato made preparations for ‘D-Day’, Vincent was ordered to guard the shipment of Energy Stone scraps back to Japan. However instead of boarding the cargo ship, he made his way to Japan through an alternate route alongside Eric. Taking Eric to pay a visit to Sofia who was bedridden in a Tokyo apartment, Vincent decided to use the yakuza war that was brewing in Nagoya due to Ryo’s coup against Ogawa Shinji as an opportunity to strike.
While Nagoya was embroiled in a three-way battle between Nine Dragons, Yamaguchi-gumi and riot police, Vincent and Eric launched their own attack on Nine Dragons Hall in which they killed many lieutenants and underlings. Vincent afterwards faced Ryo who had reverted to his real personality, but despite initially giving Ryo a beating, Vincent soon found himself totally outclassed when Ryo utilised the physical power gained from draining the Charyeok energies of hundreds of Charyeok Users. Grieviously wounded and unable to injure Ryo even with Eric entering the fray, Vincent pleaded for Ryo to spare Eric again, so instead of draining their Charyeok energies instantly, Ryo decided to have them tied to the Yggdrasil where they would be slowly drained.
After Ryo’s defeat and the wilting of the Yggdrasil, Vincent took Sofia to stay at the home office of Eric who now owned their lives, and at his recommendation went to join Shadow.
